3 Tips for Picture Perfect Senior Outfits
Just because you love an outfit, doesn’t mean it will photograph well. Below are some tips for picking clothes for high school seniors that are flattering in camera.
Mix Tight & Loose Fitting Clothing
For girls, it is always good to define the waistline. A great way to do that is with an A-line dress, where the bodice is tight on top but flows out from the waist. But, if you love flowy tops, you can pair them with tight fitting pants or a skirt. Skinny jeans or a pencil skirt will work well. If you are petite and full figured, an A-line dress that hits above the knee is a great choice. The more of your legs that you show, the taller you will look. A tight fitting top with tight fitting bottoms or a tight dress can look good, but for the right body type. If you have a little bit of a tummy, it’s best to mix tight and loose clothing.
Pick Colors That Will Flatter Your Hair & Eye Color
Picking the right colors is really important to looking your best in photos. My blog post on choosing colors to flatter your hair & eye color is a great resource. You also want to consider the undertone of your skin when choosing colors. People with yellow undertones should choose warm colors while people with blue undertones should choose cool colors. It can be hard to decipher your undertone. But if you head over to Sephora and ask someone to help you find the right foundation, they can tell you your undertone. Another great resource is Cardigan Empire. Check out the Color Season section of her site to help you figure out your color season.
Accessorize!
Scarves, jackets, and cool shoes can add impact to a simple outfit. They also can give you 2 outfits in 1 because you can shoot with and without the accessories.
