A Boy and His Dog

My shoot with Shawn, Laura, and Wilson is definitely one of my favorite shoots from this fall. Wilson is a beautiful Australian Shepherd mix and was an absolute joy to photograph. He is not only adorable, but shares a special bond with his dad, Shawn. The photos of their “parallel expressions” below say it all.

Laura, Shawn’s girlfriend, purchased this session as a Christmas present for him. She really wanted to highlight the bond that Shawn and Wilson share as well as one of Wilson’s talents, the high five.😁 The fall proved to be the ideal time for us to shoot and we totally lucked out with the weather.

We shot this session on Shawn’s family’s property in Garner. The family does large scale sculptures. The big cube, shown below, is one of his brother’s pieces. They have an epic wood pile, which made an excellent background! The combination of a unique setting, artwork, a sweet puppy dog, and great people made this an unforgettable session!
