Branding Spotlight – Sharon Jackman
Sharon Jackman, a hypnotherapist, needed new photographs for her website and contacted me about my branding photography sessions. During our pre-shoot consultation, she and I worked together to pinpoint the look and feel of her session. This consultation helped me to craft a series of photos that created an atmosphere of serenity, which is an important part of her work with clients. It was also important to Sharon that the photos portray her as an empathetic and competent professional that clients could trust. So, we looked for an environment that was professional yet inviting. Spaces in Cary ended up fitting the mold perfectly with its modern and bright conference room featuring contemporary and stylish furniture. And, I had a field day with the natural light!
As with many branding shoots, it was important to incorporate some “in-action” shots of Sharon. Since she does most of her sessions over Zoom, I captured some images of her pretending to work with clients at her computer. We also had my assistant, Abby, model for us while Sharon spent a few minutes with her doing a mock session.
Another critical component of branding sessions is capturing images that will fit into a particular layout for a website or other promotional materials. Sharon needed a banner image for the home page of her website that would have some empty space for text. The winning shot for the banner ended up being the 3rd photo down on this page. Sharon wanted clients to feel welcomed and to quickly develop the sense that she could really help them. Her casual outfit in this image combined with the way that she is leaning into the table successfully communicates her approachability.
Even though Sharon styled her hair, her makeup was done by Theresa Burden Makeup Artistry. Her hair cut was done by Hair by Patrick McGuire in Raleigh. Beautiful work, Theresa and Patrick! Thanks for a beautiful session, Sharon. You are a star! ⭐️
