Engagement Session at Raleigh’s Historic Yates Mill
Well, I just can’t seem to stay away from Yates Mill. It’s just too good. The mixture of textures, rustic architecture, water, and greenery make it a veritable wonderland for photographers. When planning a photo session with clients, I send them galleries of different locations that I use frequently. And so many people end up choosing Historic Yates Mill in Raleigh. So, I shoot there a lot. And given that Tiffany & Robert love their dog, Jack, we had to include him in a couple of photos at nearby Lake Wheeler Park. (Yates Mill doesn’t allow pets.)
This engagement session is for Tiffany & Robert, who will be getting married at the Oaks at Salem in September. I connected with them through the Oaks’ Vendor Marketplace, which is a year-round wedding show that anyone who tours their venue can check out. They converted a barn adjacent to the property into a rustic marketplace full of awesome wedding vendors. It’s a great concept and I’m excited to be a part of it. It’s even cooler because I got married at the Oaks! Similar to Yates Mill, the Oaks has so many great places to shoot. They have a gorgeous courtyard overlooking a pond, huge trees lining the property, and a very cool old shed similar in texture to some of the buildings at Yates Mill. So I can see why this couple chose this location for their engagement session!
