Playful Proposal Ideas for Valentine’s Day
Valentine’s Day may be an obvious choice for a proposal. But, the way that you propose to your valentine doesn’t have to be obvious. Here are some playful and unique proposal ideas for Valentine’s Day.
Photo Booth Proposal
If you are both fans of video games, have a casual date night at a local arcade and go check out the photo booth. Once you are inside, pop the question and capture her reaction as the camera snaps away. Frankie’s in Raleigh has an old school photo booth.
Pet Proposal
Do you adore your pet? Attach a note that says “Will You Marry My Daddy?” to your cat or dog’s collar. There are even pet tags that you can buy on Etsy with this phrase! (of course!) You could do the proposal at home or plan to meet your valentine in a local park for a walk. When you arrive at the park, have her sit down on a bench and tell her to check out your dog’s new collar. Once she sees the note, you can get down on one knee. You could also have the proposal photographed if you are at a local park. My husband proposed to me at the North Carolina Museum of Art in Raleigh, NC next to a pond and weeping willow. It was a beautiful spot and we have a gorgeous photo of the proposal hanging in our house. (I highly recommend having a photographer photograph your proposal!) Some other beautiful parks are the Raleigh Little Theater Rose Garden, the Raulston Arboretum in Raleigh or Duke Gardens in Durham. Duke Gardens can be very crowded and photographers need to pay to shoot there, so that is something to consider.
Spell Your Proposal Out
If you are both Scrabble lovers, plan to cook dinner together and have a game night in. If you don’t already have a deluxe scrabble board (you know where the letters have their own slots and won’t move around easily) buy one as a present. When she opens the box, have her name and the phrase “Will You Marry Me” spelled out with the tiles.
If you are planning a proposal in the Raleigh or Triangle area, and would like to have it photographed, feel free to reach out to me for location / proposal ideas. I can guarantee that your sweetie will love all of the care and attention you put into the proposal!
