I love working with clients who have a vision for their session.  Toniya and Rahul were looking to create a cozy and casual look for their family session with their 2 dogs, Mellow and Nova. They wanted to incorporate their home into the session, which was decorated with a lot of flair.  I especially loved working in their upstairs spare bedroom, which had a ton of window light and a soft neutral color palette.

Toniya & Rahul were celebrating Mellow’s 10th birthday and got him a cake to celebrate.  This was the first time that I photographed a “smash cake session”, which you see frequently with babies. How appropriate that I did one with dogs!  

A little bit about the dogs… Mellow is a yellow lab that has been living up to his name since he was a pup.  He is super friendly and loves to greet visitors with a toy, slipper, or whatever he can find.  He is likely to wiggle between your knees so that you can easily bend over and scratch his butt!  Nova is a velcro dog that will bark at visitors at first but warms up quickly.  In fact, she has been known to wear visitors out so much that Toniya & Rahul have to pry her away from their guests.  She just can’t get enough love!  Nova also has a flair for the dramatic and is known for her puppy dog eyes.  Toniya thinks that she would be a Hollywood actress if she was a human.
